Leaf Anatomy

Whether you’re celebrating Earth Day, or you just love mother nature, this tutorial requires you to get outside! Once you've gathered some leaves from around your community, we'll compare and contrast their differences and similarities and create our own replicas using your 3Doodler 3D printing Pen.
Specifically designed for 3Doodler Create+ Logo PNG

What You'll Need

1 Gather your materials!

For this week’s tutorial you’ll want to get outside and gather a few whole intact leaves. Once you have found a couple different shaped leaves you can head inside and gather everything else you’ll need, including your 3Doodler Create+ pen, 3Doodler Create+ Plastic, and your Create+ DoodlePad.

2 Use your leaves as your stencils & Doodle!

Place your DoodlePad directly on top of your leaf. This will turn your leaf into a stencil that you will be able to trace.

Tip:
Make sure the underside of the leaf is pressing up against the DoodlePad, exposing all of its veins. This will make it easier to trace and allow you to get more detailed definition into your Doodle.

3 Carefully Peel Your Doodle from the DoodlePad

Once you have Doodled your Leaf then wait a minute to make sure the plastic has completely set and then snap it off your DoodlePad.

4 Repeat previous steps with remaining leaves

Repeat steps two and three for all the leaves you collected. Try using a different color plastic for each leaf to help their unique differences really pop.
