RBG-Inspired Collar Necklace

In this tutorial, we channel our love for Ruth Bader Ginsburg and re-create one of her famous judge's collars. We used colors similar to the “Pride collar” that Justice Ginsberg first wore on the bench in 2016. But, if this is not your speed, feel free to switch up the colors with whatever you have on hand!

What You'll Need

1 Gather your supplies!

Ready to create a life-sized stencil of one of Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s iconic jabots? Collect your supplies, including your 3Doodler Create+ or PRO+ Pen, plastic, and your DoodlePad.

Print out one (or all three) of our RBG stencils. There will be two pieces of paper per collar, so you will need to cut the stencil at the dotted line and attach the two sides with tape before Doodling. Or you can Doodle the two pieces independently and connect them afterwards as a final step.

2 Doodle the inner circle to serve as your anchor.

Our Doodler used black plastic to create a necklace that will serve as a foundation for the collar design. We added a clasp using a knot and a loop technique, and reinforced the necklace design with a cool diamond pattern.

3 Add layers on to your necklace.

After you’ve established a strong inner foundation layer, change out the color of your plastic and begin Doodling each layer of the design, securing each new layer of diamonds to the tip of the previous layer. We used colors similar to the “Pride collar” that Justice Ginsberg first wore on the bench in 2016. But, if this is not your speed, feel free to switch up the colors with whatever you have on hand!

4 Peel your design off the stencil and snap a photo!

After you’ve created a collar you are proud of, take a photo and wear it with pride! Little minor blemishes or imperfections are totally okay. It adds character!
