Getting Started
Basics
Set the Temperature
- Plug in your 3Doodler PRO+ and turn it on.
- Use the Navigation Buttons to scroll through the preset temperature modes on the display.
- Press the Enter Button to select your desired material.
- Available preset modes:
- OOD – Wood
- BRO – Bronze
- COP – Copper
- PLA – PLA
- NYL – Nylon
- FLE – Flexy
- CUS – Custom mode for setting temperature and speed
- SEL – Select temperature display (switch between °F and °C)
Set the Speed
- Choose your extrusion speed (1–10) using the Navigation Buttons.
- Press the Enter Button to confirm your selection.
Wait for the Indicator Light
- The Indicator Light will turn:
- Blue for preset temperature modes
- Green for custom mode
Insert the Filament
- Once the Indicator Light is Blue or Green, insert a filament strand through the Feed Port.
- Click the Feed Button once; the Drive Gear will pull the filament through automatically.
Start Doodling
- After 10–15 seconds, filament will begin extruding from the nozzle.
- Press the Feed Button to stop extrusion when needed.
The Pen
Buttons
- Up/Down: Adjust temperature and speed.
- Enter/Select: Confirm your selection.
- Feed/Reverse: Feed the filament forward or reverse it to change strands.
Indicator Lights
- Red: Heating up or waiting for a selection.
- Blue: Feeding in preset temperature mode.
- Green: Feeding in custom mode.
- Flashing Blue/Green: Reversing filament in preset/custom mode.
Operation
Feeding Strands
- Push the filament gently into the pen until the Drive Gear grips it.
- If the strand is too short, remove the cover and feed it from inside.
Pressing On Surface
- Press the nozzle firmly onto your surface for a few seconds to anchor the filament, then lift the pen.
Welding Filament
- Touch the 3Doodler tip to two pieces of filament while extruding to connect them.
Finishing and Tips
Reverse and Remove Filament
- Ensure the pen is turned on and heated.
- Press the Reverse Button; the Light will flash as the filament retracts.
- Once retracted, gently pull the filament out.
Snip Those Ends
- Trim melted ends of filament before reinserting to prevent clogs.
Troubleshooting
Jammed Filament
- Set the temperature to match the filament being used.
- Remove the nozzle using the included socket (pen must be heated).
- Use the reverse feature and the unblocking tool to clear any jams.
Accessories
Swapping Nozzles
- Ensure the pen is turned on and heated before removing or attaching nozzles with the nozzle tool.
- Do not over-tighten; keep the nozzle tool centered to avoid damage.
Using the Smoothing Tool
- Slide the tool onto the nozzle while the pen is unplugged and cool.
- Turn on the pen, use the appropriate temperature, and smooth your doodles.
- Turn off and allow to cool before removing the tool.
Using the Mini DoodlePad
- Use the transparent, grid-lined DoodlePad for precise creations.
- For WOOD, Bronze, Copper, or FLEXY, use the backside; ABS, PLA, and Nylon work best on the front.
